A 22-year-old Newark driver was killed in a crash on Route 280 in Harrison early Saturday morning, July 27, New Jersey State Police said.

According to NJSP Sgt. Charles Marchan, Kaylee Mendez was heading east when she ran off the road to the right and struck a guardrail around 1:25 a.m.

She was ejected from the vehicle and killed. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
